Owl-o-wicious

6 10 2008

Right now owls seem to be the “IT thing” in paper crafts. Surprisingly I love all the new owl sets from just about every company and want them ALL. I thought this owl was really fun. I’ve also been working on some really fun die-cut owls from QuicKutz that i plan on photographing tomorrow and posting soon.

I’ve also been playing around with the new SEI Poppy paper which has some of the neatest color combinations.

I used paper piercing along the edges of the flourishes. I also used Colored pencils and odorless mineral spirits to blend the colors on the owl. Click on the link to learn how this technique works.

Green, Yellow, and Pink!!!

14 09 2008

I really love green, yellow, and pink colors of this card.  Plus, kraft paper again!!! This card has a very “back to school” feel to me.

So far I am leaving this card blank until I decide what type of sentiment I’ll use.  I often leave cards blank so that I can “update” with an appropriate sentiment before sending it off.

For this card I used yellow embroidery floss to “stitch” the buttons together and then affixed the buttons with glue dots.
